About 

Edivaldo begins to dance in 1997 with the Tsemba dance group, where he learns Mozambican traditional dance for 4 years. In 2001 he is invited to be a member of Ussoforal, a western African traditional dance group. In 2003 he starts dancing with the contemporary dance company “Esculturas Humanas”. That same year he is accepted for the 1st stage of a choreographic development project, a six months training program organized by CulturArte (Maputo-Mozambique) and Danças nas Cidades (Lisbon-Portugal). Through this program, he attends several workshops with Boyzie Cekwana and Desire Davids (South Africa), David Zambrano and Mat Voorter (Venezuela-Holland). In 2005 he participates in the Dance Web Scholarship Impulstanz for six weeks in Vienna. Since 2010 he has been working as an assistant and performer with David Zambrano. He assisted in the intensive workshops of “Flying Low” and “Passing Through”, in the 50 Days program (Costa Rica), at ImPulseTaz Festival (Vienna), DansCentrum Jette (Belgium), FUZIONI Improvisation Festival (Italy) and EX>IN series in 2014, 2016  and 2018. And performed in the pieces  “Twelve flies went out at noon”,  “Soul project”, ”SHOCK” and “Land in love" directed by David Zambrano. 

He has been working in Berlin (Germany) with Sasha Waltz and Guests since 2007, with the pieces “Travelogue-Twenty to eight”, “Jagden und Formen”, “Continue”, “Metamorphoses”, “Passion”, “Gefaltet”, “Sacre”, “Rauchen”, “In C”, “ Symphonie MMXX” and in various Dialogue-project.

In 2013 he collaborated with the german Pianist Hauschka in the “UM:LAUT series Berlin” in Radialsystem, touring Europe. In 2015 he premiered his first choreographic solo “Tears” touring Europe, Asia and South America. In 2017 he also collaborated with Director and Choreographer Linda Kapetanea in Duet choreography “Half the Truth” for Rootlessroot company. In 2022 he premiered his new solo “Brace” performed in Kalamata Festival in Greece. 

As a choreographer, Edivaldo directed the solo “Enchant” performed by Rosario Ordeñez (Mexico) in 2020, several pieces for the students of Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance (SEAD) in Austria, and in 2023 the piece "IT FOLLOWS" for the expanded contemporary program from Amsterdam University of arts, Netherlands

He has presented his work at United space Hong Kong Festival; Guangdon dance festival; Bouge B, DeSingel Festival; Tanzfestival in Kulturzentrum Tempel; Notafe Festival Viljandi; Deltebre Festival; Gdansk Dance Festival; Radialsystem, Exit festival;  Vivadança Festival; Midi Festival; Kalamata Dance Festival and others. 

 

Since 2011 Edivaldo Ernesto had been immersed in the investigation and development

of his Workshops: “Depth Movement” and “Next Level” and taught in several countries and Festivals around the world.
